The so called law abiding citizens of my country!
Recently I have been noticing that patience is something that Pakistanis don't have. They are complaining about the system every time, but I have a question for them. Have you ever noticed what you are doing? No. You don't even wait for the light to go green on a traffic signal and start driving away! and then you say that leaders are corrupt!. You are the one who bribes the traffic police man just to get off with the ticket business and then you say that our police is useless. As a matter of fact we are the ones who are corrupt. Just yesterday I was sitting in the car with my brother and we were standing on the red light just like a normal citizen. Unless comes a truck driver behind us and honked us to move forward. My brother tried to move the car but I said stop, it was against the rules.
The truck kept honking and honking and there I was sitting and chilling on my car seat. When the signal went green we moved. The next thing I saw gave a smile upon my face. The truck was standing on the red light over the next signal and that's what I called achievement. Though he might be angry on me but the inside guilt came out and forced him to stop for good.
Its never easy to change, but trying to change just gives you faith to do more as "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" The point is that try to be patient and you will automatically be happy from yourselves.
treat people with kindness, don't bribe them, follow rules, you will feel the change in you and trust me, it will be self satisfying trust. We talk about change in the country, how about changing ourselves which will definitely change the country.

Love turned into Riots
KARACHI, Sept 21: At least 17 people, including two policemen, were killed in sporadic acts of violence during rallies taken out by different religious organisations in protest against the anti-Islam film on Friday. Over 100 people, 12 policemen among them, were injured.
Five cinema houses, three police mobiles, three banks and a number of shops were set on fire and looted by the protesters. Two police stations were also attacked by the violent mob.
Most of the violence took place on M.A. Jinnah Road, Merewether Tower and PIDC as the protesters fought pitched battles with police. A heavy exchange of fire took place near Tower where police had placed containers to block access to Jinnah Bridge.
Initially police fired teargas shells at the protesters, but when the situation worsened they resorted to firing. The mob wanted to march towards the US consulate from Jinnah Bridge to register their protest.
The Tower showdown between police and protesters left a policeman dead and five others wounded. Four protesters suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
“Six bodies, including that of a policeman, and 40 wounded have been brought to Civil Hospital. A wounded policeman died during treatment,” a medico legal officer at the hospital said. The crowd turned hostile at the emergency ward when a power failure hit the hospital. They ransacked the ward and took away an AC and a computer.
“Six men were brought dead in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and one died during treatment,” Dr Seemi Jamali, in-charge of the hospital’s emergency ward, said, adding: “We have treated 83 gunshot victims brought from different areas of the city.”
Ten injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The protesters resorted to violence at emergency wards of both the hospitals.
Four cinema houses — Nishat, Prince, Capri and Bambino — were set on fire when protest rallies were passing through M.A.
Jinnah Road on their way to the US consulate. Gulistan Cinema was torched in Quaidabad. The DC Office, Malir, was also set on fire.
“Two of our fire tenders were attacked by the protesters. Five firemen were wounded at Tibet Centre when we tried to reach the cinema houses,” said an officer at the central fire station. “We received complaints about fire in cinema houses, cars and banks, but our vehicles were not able to reach the place because of the volatile situation”. The protesters acted with impunity at the PIDC intersection for a few hours, setting fire to a bank and ransacking almost all banks located on the stretch of the road described by police as the ‘red zone’. The shops located adjacent to PIDC building were also damaged and looted by the protesters.
The NIB Bank was set on fire at PICD, while UBL, MCB Bank and National Bank were ransacked and looted by the protesters.
They ransacked ATM machines of the banks at PIDC and tried to snatch cash out of them.
Another bank was ransacked in Tower area.
A traffic police post at PIDC was set on fire. The protesters also ransacked front shops at Sheraton Hotel and an international fast food chain outlet in the PIDC House, taking away their furniture.
At least three police mobiles were set on fire near the Chief Minister House.
“We don’t have ammunition to use against the protesters”, said a policeman who was hiding behind a container.
Although the SSP and DC South were seen patrolling the areas around the Karachi Press Club, along with their big escorts, but none of them reached the PIDC when the loot and arson attacks were taking place.
A number of policemen were injured when the protesters attacked two police stations near Keamari and Manghopir. There were reports that the protesters snatched some arms from the policemen. One of the wounded policemen, identified as sub-inspector Illyas, later died in hospital.

Do we really have the guts!!!
Today's youth is more enthusiastic rather than practically proving the facts and figures, which actually makes a major difference between today's youth and our ancestors, basically more like a generation gap. many people especially the young ones actually ignore this fact and make different kinds of excuses. WELL EXCUSE ME!!! do the youth even think that they are this future of this world and I really hope to live with peace. But where do we find this word peace. Every corner of the world is full of violence in some reason weather it is gender discrimination or character assassination there is some unrest going 24/7. Now here is the chance for youth to stop this!!! But wait I just recalled that we are too scared to face these situation. We just came here to live and earn right!!! If we right now don't face these problems than when we are going to do it!! how are we going to win the trust of our elders that we are actually grown up and are really ready for the challenge , do we really have the guts to hold the world in our hands and say that it is now safe and healthy place to live. I don't think so Instead i think the vice versa will happen and major disasters will strike us like Economic crisis and others.
We still have time to think, lets just freshen our brains up and think for a moment that what actually we need to do to save us and others form the upcoming global crisis, because at the end of the day we are the one who are going to be questioned!!!!

Britain says Assange asylum wouldn't change a thing
(Reuters) - Britain told Ecuador on Thursday that giving Julian Assange asylum would not change a thing and that it might still revoke the diplomatic status of Quito's embassy in London to allow the extradition of the WikiLeaks founder.
The Ecuadorean government, which said it would announce its decision on Assange's asylum request on Thursday at 7 a.m. (1200 GMT), said any attempt to remove the diplomatic status of its embassy would be considered a "hostile and intolerable act".
"It is too early to say when or if Britain will revoke the Ecuadorean embassy's diplomatic status," a Foreign Office spokesman said by telephone.
"Giving asylum doesn't fundamentally change anything," the spokesman said, adding that Britain had a legal duty to extradite Assange to Sweden where he is wanted to stand trial for rape.
Quito bristled at the threat.
"We want to be very clear, we're not a British colony. The colonial times are over," Ecuadorean Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino said in an angry statement after a meeting with President Rafael Correa.
"The move announced in the official British statement, if it happens, would be interpreted by Ecuador as an unfriendly, hostile and intolerable act, as well as an attack on our sovereignty, which would force us to respond in the strongest diplomatic way," Patino told reporters.
Ecuador, whose government is part of a left-leaning bloc of nations in South America, called for meetings of regional foreign ministers and the hemispheric Organization of American States to rally support in its complaint against Britain.
Cabinet informed: Rs464bn subsidy given to power sector in FY12 alone
ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet which met here Wednesday with Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in the chair was informed that the government has provided Rs464 billion subsidy to power sector, Rs 45 billion higher than the budgeted target of Rs419 billion for 2011-12.
Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira told media after the meeting of the Cabinet that the government has provided Rs 464 billion subsidy on electricity during last fiscal year. He said the Cabinet meeting was also briefed about power situation as well as steps taken to mitigate the problem. Officials of Water and Power Ministry informed the meeting that electricity generation has improved recently, following increase in hydel generation as well as increase in fuel supply to power plants.
The meeting was informed that presently the daytime electricity production is 13,250 MW which increases to 14,300 MW in the evening with 5,000MW daytime and 6,100MW hydel production in the evening due to extra release of water from dams after its storage during daytime.
The minister said power generation by Gencos stood at 1,900MW, IPPs 6,300MW and 300MW from Chashma nuclear power plants whereas one plant of 300MW would become operational tonight. He said second nuclear power unit that had developed some fault would become operational this evening as a result of which 300MW would be added to the system.
The minister said the Prime Minister also constituted a committee with Secretaries of Ministries of Water and Power; Petroleum and Natural Resources and Finance for holding meetings on day-to-day basis to monitor the electricity situation and resolve the issues faced by the power sector. The meeting, he said would regularly update the Prime Minister and the Cabinet on the progress and the relevant information would also be shared with the people.
Kaira said the Prime Minister also decided that an exclusive meeting of the Cabinet on water and power sector would be held after Eid to review the steps taken so far and adopt further measures to improve the electricity situation in the country. In reply to a question, he said recovery of electricity dues in Punjab are relatively better compared to other provinces.
The Cabinet was informed that inflation has come down as compared to 2008-09. The Consumer Price Index has decreased to 9.6% from 12.4 per cent a year ago with food inflation decelerating to 9.1% from 23.7%, non-food inflation to 9.2% from 18.4% and core inflation to 11.3% from 17.4%.
The minister said the meeting was informed that the inflation could have further come down if the provincial government capped retailers and dealers hoarding of essential commodities made for profiteering. However, the minister said an increasing trend was noted in the prices of onion and tomatoes which have gone up by 11.5% and 11.34% respectably in recently days, but expressed the hope that the trend would be reversed with the arrival of new crops from KP and Balochistan.
The high-ups of the Finance Ministry has reportedly presented a regional comparison of the prices to the Cabinet meeting and informed that prices of some items such as wheat, rice, sugar and petrol are on the lower side in Pakistan as compared to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He said reduction in inflation does not necessarily means reversal of prices to previous level and inflation has come down largely because of improvement in supply chain. The minister said prices of fertilizer and diesel are higher in Pakistan as compared to other regional countries because other regional countries provide subsidy on them.
He said that Pakistan has been providing huge subsidy on power sector. Rupees 464 billion subsidy was provided on electricity during last fiscal year, Rs 26 billion on fertilizers and Rs 2.5 billion to Utility Stores Corporation (USC) for providing subsidized essential items.
Additionally, he said prices of gas in Pakistan are relatively cheap as compared to international market and the government is providing direct financial support to the people through Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
He said the Cabinet approved the draft of the Equity Participation Repeal Bill 2012, allowed starting of negotiations with different countries for increasing cooperation in different sectors.
Kamra Airbase Attack beyond Taliban
fighter jets and located about 60 kilometers (37 miles)northwest of Islamabad.
During this operation one security official has martyred. AirCommodore Azam reached to the base and took the charge of the operation and sustained bullet injury while leading his soldiers from the front.
According to the public sources, the attack on the facility, "Intense fire" was exchanged between security personnel and the "group of terrorists". The sources also confirmed that the sound of gun and rocket fire, as well as hand grenades exploding have been be heard inside the base.
Although, TTP has claimed the responsibility for the attack but apparently, the planning, choice of targets i.e. killing troops and damaging spying aircraft and attack timing clearly shows that the attack on the base was beyond the capability of the said Taliban organization. Meanwhile‚ high ups of the PAF are in close contact with Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and are being regularly informed about the situation.
Anyhow, Pakistani security forces were on the state of high alert after receiving the information of likely terrorist attack in the month of Ramadan. However, the coward terrorists have tried to attack in the wee hours of the sacred night. The security arrangements consisting of four tiers have been able to, not only stop the terrorists on the 2nd tier and killed them there and then. The base was already on high alert state and the base authorities have made ample security arrangements to repulse such an attack. Only one soldier, Mr Asif was martyred and the Base Commander, AirCommodore Azam Khan, who led the operation from the front, sustained bullet injuries. With the help of Allah, only one aircraft has slightly damaged, while the entire terrorists have been killed along with their vicious designs.
The armed forces have yet again risen to the occasion and gave a befitting reply to the enemies of Islam and Pakistan. Loius Kossuth once said, "it is surmounting difficulties that make heroes" well done Pakistan, well done Pakistan Armed Forces.
Thus, defeating and killing of terrorists in such a short span of time, has again proved the alertness, valiant and heroic act of brave soldiers of Pakistani security forces.
Anyhow, attack on Kamra would be seen in the back drop of US demands of taking actions against Haqqani Network Work. In this connection Washington is pressurizing Pakistan to launch major military operation against Waziristan militants next month. Moreover, U.S. Secretary of State Clinton is reviewing FTO designation for Haqqani Network; Afghan and Pakistani Presidents to send joint military team to investigate cross-border attacks.
Some of western media analysts has started propagating that Director General of ISI, Lt General Zaheerul Islam in a covert deal has assured US for launching a military operation against Haqqani network in Waziristan. On contrary to it, Pakistan categorically rejected the unfair U.S demands and Intelligence Chief General Zaheer during his recent visit has also tried to convince his counterpart that CIA drone attacks are counterproductive.
Nevertheless, on 15 August ,2012 U.S. military officials confirmed U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's statement that the Pakistan army plans to launch a major military operation in September to clear militant groups in the tribal areas of Waziristan. He also added that U.S. increasing cross-border cooperation with Pakistan.
In short, attacking Kamra Base could be the part of CIA dirty tricks against Pakistan for pressurizing Pakistan to launch operation against Haqqani group of Taliban. Pakistani correspondence for "New York Times" Declan Walsh's report of 16 August 2012 regarding likely storage of the country's nuclear weapons in Kamra base is just an ineffectual effort of giving a sensational touch to the attack and negative propaganda about Pakistan nuclear programme of Kamra base. He should know that the concerned IAEA agency and global powers acknowledged and declared at number of times that Pakistani nuclear arsenals are in safe hands and out of the reach of Taliban.
